Belarus, Azerbaijan to improve information exchange system for migration management
Belarus and Azerbaijan will improve the information exchange for migration management in line with an intergovernmental agreement. An agreement on cooperation in migration management will ensure exchange of statistical, research, methodological, and other information of mutual interest and exchange of experience in enforcing immigration law. The provisions of the agreement aim to improve the information exchange system for migration management, coordination of joint efforts aimed to regulate and control migration processes.
The agreement, however, will be applied not only in migration management. Its implementation will enable the two countries to cooperate in search for criminals, to prevent illegal migration, and to improve legal mechanisms of cooperation in these areas. The agreement was signed in Minsk on 19 November 2018 during the official visit of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev. The document was developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus and the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan.
