EU to support Belarus with EUR 7.5 million for the modernization of border checkpoints "Berestovitsa" and "Urbany"
According to representatives of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the EU is going to invest EUR 7.5 million in the modernization of the Belarusian border checkpoints "Berestovitsa" and "Urbany".
In the "Berestovitsa", an X-ray scanning transport control system to be installed between 2014 and 2020, within the framework of the "Poland-Belarus-Ukraine" cross-border cooperation program. It is also planned to train specialists and exchange the experience on how to use the scans with the Polish side.
The same project within the framework of the Latvia-Lithuania-Belarus cross-border cooperation program for 2014-2020 will be implemented on the checkpoint "Urbany".
