Georgia and EU express willingness for closer cooperation in migration and security

European Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos met with Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili in Brussels to discuss migration and Georgia’s visa liberalisation issues. 

Two officials spoke about the importance of the Georgia-EU 2017-2020 Association Agreement agenda, and especially in the part of establishing closer cooperation in migration and security. In this context, Georgia’s PM said the country adopted the Law on Protection of Personal Data and developed a migration strategy and a subsequent action plan.
