More than 16 thousand labour migrants worked in Ukraine in 2018

According to the Ministry of Social Policy, during 2018, 16.2 thousand foreign citizens and stateless persons temporarily worked in Ukraine, which is a quarter more than in 2017 (12.3 thousand). The number permits issued to Ukrainian employers in 2018 shows that the majority of labour migrants came from Turkey - 2,977, the Russian Federation - 1,601, China - 1,008, Belarus - 887, Azerbaijan - 707, Poland - 685, Israel - 608, USA - 520, India - 504, Germany - 437, France - 370, Great Britain - 360, Romania - 343, Thailand - 319, Moldova - 308, Georgia - 301, Italy - 297, Iran - 185, Lithuania - 184 and Kazakhstan - 170.

As of January 1, 2019, 11.1 thousand foreign citizens worked legally in Ukraine (mainly citizens of Turkey, the Russian Federation, China, Azerbaijan, Poland, Israel, and the USA).
